How we work

A method built for organisations that have to keep running while they change.

Every Nexgen engagement follows the same five phases, scaled to the problem. A three-week diagnostic moves through them in days; a multi-year program moves through them in stages. The sequence matters because it forces the decisions that programs usually defer — what outcome, whose decision, what trade-off — before money is committed.

The five phases

  1. Discover

Understand the problem, the users, the estate and the constraints. Rapid evidence gathering: interviews, documents, data, systems.

You getProblem statement; current state; risks; options

  2. Align

Agree outcomes, scope, governance and funding with the executive. Align business and technology goals before design starts.

You getOutcome framework; decision rights; roadmap skeleton

  3. Design

Target state, architecture, product and process designs, with trade-offs made explicit and recorded.

You getTarget architecture; decision records; delivery plan; business case

  4. Deliver

Lead or assure delivery; manage vendors; protect the architecture and the outcomes under pressure.

You getWorking services; governance cadence; benefits tracking

  5. Sustain

Hand over capability, embed governance, measure and improve.

You getPlaybooks; trained people; monitoring; continuous improvement

Scheduled sessions plus on-call advice on decisions, papers and vendor proposals

Delivery leadership

Defined phase · milestone-based

Programs in mobilisation, recovery or go-live.

Briefings and workshops

Tailored material, facilitated decisions, written summary

What you can expect from us

  1. Fixed scope and fixed price wherever the problem allows.
  2. A written update every week, in plain language, that says what was done, what was found and what needs a decision.
  3. Artefacts in your templates and tools, owned by you from day one.
  4. Capability transfer built into every engagement — we expect your people to be able to run what we leave behind.

  6. Conflicts of interest disclosed before we start, and a published conflict-of-interest policy you can read.

Start with the diagnostic.

Two to six weeks, fixed price, and a plan you can act on whether or not you engage us for the next phase.
